My name is Erica Baptiste and I am an American artist based in Brooklyn, NY. I work with a variety of mediums including graphite, watercolor, gouache, chalk pastel, oil, and digital illustration. The motivation for my work is driven by my fascination with the question “what is real?”. I attempt to encourage viewers to see through the fabric of reality to what lives in between the seams. My work is both psychologically and emotionally charged, exploring themes of anxiety, depression, loneliness and existentialism. Each piece is a visual idiom and a catalyst for a dream.
